Residents of Lynn Lake have been ordered to evacuate due to a “rapidly advancing” wildfire.
A post on the town’s Facebook page told residents to evacuate because of the “imminent threat” of wildfire nearby.
On Monday fire crews were pulled back from the fire line due to extreme conditions, including wind gusts of up to 55 km/h, the town said in an update on social media.
A reception centre has been set up in Thompson at the Regional Community Centre at 274 Thompson Dr.
Residents are asked to bring identification, medication, a go bag, pet provisions and other necessary supplies.
For those without personal transportation, bus transportation is available from West Lynn Heights School at 416 Sherritt Ave.
Community members are urged to register here.
The fire was 7,064 hectares in size as of Monday and is considered out of control, the province’s fire map shows.
