Major routes closed for construction

Several major thoroughfares will be closed in Winnipeg over the next week as construction crews complete late-season roadwork.

Paving work at the intersection of Kenaston Boulevard and Grant Avenue will close Grant in both directions between 6 a.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday, the city said in a news release Friday. Northbound Kenaston will be reduced to one lane between Boulton Bay and Carpathia Road.

The ramp from northbound Pembina Highway to westbound Abinojii Mikanah will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. The ramp work was rescheduled from last weekend due to poor weather. The left-turn ramp from westbound Abinojii Mikanah to southbound Pembina will also be closed.

Overnight paving work will also close St. Mary’s Road, between Seniuk Road and Viking Road, starting Monday. The street will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday.
