Man, 28, facing weapons charges

A 28-year-old Winnipeg man is facing weapons charges after police noticed a boarded-up apartment complex suite had been breached Friday night.

Winnipeg police went to investigate the suit on the 400 block of Edmonton Street and found a man and woman inside.

A backpack police say belonged to the man contained an air pistol, a zip-gun in two pieces and 0.22 calibre rounds.

The man was detained.

The 29-year-old woman was charged with unlawfully in a dwelling house and was released on an appearance notice.
