Man arrested after pointing gun at police: WPS

A 35-year-old man is in custody and is facing 22 charges after Winnipeg police say he pointed a gun at them.
Police say the man was seen riding an e-bike along the sidewalk of McGregor Street around 8 a.m. Friday. When officers attempted to stop the cyclist, he continue on before stopping on the 500 block of Manitoba Avenue, a Saturday news release states.
The man was found to be breaching conditions of his ankle monitor and when police attempted to arrest him, they say he ran away. Officers chased after him and the man allegedly pointed a loaded firearm at them, the release states.
Following the man’s arrest, police seized a loaded sawed-off 0.22 calibre improvised gun.
The man is facing 15 firearms related offences, two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and five counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
