Winnipeg police have arrested a man accused in the shooting death of a 23-year-old outside a home on Mountain Avenue early Sunday.
Everett Patterson King was shot outside the home on the 500 block of Mountain Avenue at about 12:45 a.m., police said Monday. Officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound. He died in hospital.
Homicide detectives have charged Dartanian Francesco Martin Packuluk, 21, with second-degree murder, police said.
Police believe the victim and the accused, who did not know each other, both went to a gathering at the home. After they left, police said, the two had another “encounter” that led to the shooting outside.
Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information on the incident or the people involved to call detectives at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477.
