Police arrested a man in a cornfield after a fatal shooting in Teulon on Sunday.
Stonewall RCMP were sent to a home on 7th Avenue Southeast at 10:40 p.m. and found a 37-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital and later pronounced dead.
His death is being investigated as a homicide.
While officers were at the home, a patrolling officer spotted a vehicle believed to have been involved in this homicide and tried to stop the driver. The pursuit ended abruptly when the vehicle went into a field, Manitoba RCMP said in a news release Monday.
Police sealed off the area and eventually arrested the lone person in the vehicle. Officers found and seized a gun.
A 24-year-old man remains in police custody. Investigators are not searching for any other suspects, RCMP said.
