A Winnipeg man is facing numerous child-pornography charges after border agents intercepted a sex doll designed to look like a child.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s internet child exploitation (ICE) unit was notified by the Canada Border Services Agency in August that a package destined for a Winnipeg address contained a sex doll “anatomically designed to appear to look like a prepubescent child.” Agency officers intercepted the package in Vancouver.

A search warrant was executed Sept. 4 at a Fort Richmond home, where investigators found about 20 anatomically correct female dolls ranging in appearance from newborns to early teens, the WPS said in a news release Thursday.

The dolls were located alongside clothing and accessories, and some of the dolls had been altered. Investigators later learned the suspect ordered several similar items between October 2023 and last month , the release said.

Jonathan Paul Sirski, 45, was charged with possession of child pornography; importing, distributing, selling or possessing child pornography for the purpose of distribution or sale; and making, printing, publishing or possessing child pornography for the purpose of publication.

He remains in custody.
