A 35-year-old man is facing numerous charges after Blue Hill RCMP say he opened fire inside of a home north of Souris.

Police were called to the home Sunday evening after the man fired a gun several times during a fight with another person in the home, said an RCMP release Tuesday.

Police told the man to leave the home over a loud speaker, but they were ignored.

Roughly three hours later, RCMP entered the home and arrested the suspect, who resisted officers.

Inside the house, RCMP found several prohibited firearms inside of the home, as well as ammo and a tactical vest.

The Souris-area man now faces charges that include assault, forcible confinement, resisting a peace officer and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was remanded in custody.
