A robber who went back to steal from the same store he had been at before has been arrested and charged with a string of other robberies.
Winnipeg police said a man was arrested on Thursday at about 3 p.m., shortly after staff at a commercial business, in the 200 block of Henderson Highway, recognized the man who had come in armed with a metal grinder was the same person who had stolen items from there earlier in the week.
Police said the man stole about $545 worth of items at that location before he was arrested.
An investigation determined the two robberies weren’t the only ones the man was suspected of committing.
Police said the man is accused of stealing more than $2,700 worth of items from various businesses on Talbot Avenue, Gateway Road, and Henderson Highway between Oct. 1 and Feb. 5. All of the robberies were recorded on each of the retailer’s security cameras and reported to police.
A 30-year-old man has been charged with seven counts of robbery, as well as other charges including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
He was been detained in custody.
