A 40-year-old man faces gun and drug charges after Winnipeg police executed a search warrant Monday at a residence in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood.
Officers were sent to the multi-suite residence on the 300 block of Beverley Street, following complaints from residents about drug trafficking, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Wednesday.
A suspect was identified and arrested at the scene.
Police seized a loaded 9mm handgun and ammunition from the home, 650 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and about $20,000 — with at least $10,000 of that in loonies and toonies.
The man faces six gun offences, multiple drug trafficking offences and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He remains in police custody.
