Police say officers seized a sawed-off rifle and drugs after stopping a man for riding a bike on a sidewalk.
Officers stopped the man at the intersection of Sargent Avenue and Langside Street at about 10:50 p.m. Sunday. They seized a loaded, sawed-off .22-calibre rifle with a tampered serial number, four rounds of ammunition and small quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl and psilocybin.
The drugs have a total estimated street value of $410, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Monday.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with six weapons offences, three drug offences and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order. He was detained in custody.
