A man has been charged with sexually assaulting children at an unlicensed home daycare in Winnipeg.
The accused was charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference on Sept. 13, Winnipeg Police Service spokesperson Const. Claude Chancy said Thursday.
The accused was an adult when he was arrested, but some of the charges date back to when he was under 18, Chancy said.
He was not an employee of the daycare but had access to the home it was based out of, located in the south end of the city.
The accused was released under the condition he not have access to anyone under the age of 16.
Chancy did not disclose the age of the children or how many were involved in the alleged incidents.
Police and partner agencies spoke with all families associated with the daycare, and no one else came forward with reports of sexual offences.
