A man has been charged after he allegedly yelled threats at passing pedestrians from a third-storey window and waved a hatchet in Portage la Prairie.
Police were sent to the home on Saskatchewan Avenue East at about 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, RCMP said in a news release Friday.
The man refused to leave his home, the release said.
Police obtained a warrant, and officers went into the suite and arrested a 52-year-old man. He is charged with uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting or wilfully obstructing a public officer or peace officer.
