Man dies during high-speed police chase

A man fleeing from police during a domestic dispute call early Saturday morning died after crashing the vehicle he sped off in.

Around 12:30 a.m. Winnipeg police were responding to a call about a domestic incident at a home in Tyndall Park. The male suspect involved in the dispute stole the victim’s vehicle and sped off before police arrived, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release.

Police’s AIR1 helicopter spotted the vehicle speeding westbound down Inkster Boulevard. While attempting to make a northbound turn onto Brookside Boulevard it lost control.

The 35-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries.
