Man dies in custody at Milner Ridge jail

A man in custody at Milner Ridge Correctional Centre died Friday, Manitoba Justice reported Monday.

Manitoba Justice reported the 50-year-old man’s death in a press release but did not name the person, or provide any information on how he had died. Milner Ridge Correctional Centre is a minimum, medium and maximum security men’s provincial jail in the Agassiz Provincial Forest, around 20 kilometres southwest of Lac du Bonnet.

The death has been reported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
