A 26-year-old man is in custody after flashing a loaded gun inside an Osborne Village nightclub early Sunday morning, police say.
Officers were sent to a lounge on the 200 block of Osborne Street at 12:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service said in a Monday news release.
Police said the man arrived at the bar and proceeded to show a gun to many patrons before security was notified and officers were called.
The man was arrested inside the establishment and a loaded handgun was seized.
Police did not name the lounge, but the only bar on the 200 block of Osborne is the Encore Lounge, formerly known as The Village.
The owner of the club declined to comment when reached by the Free Press.
Samtra Samtra was charged with multiple offences, including possession of a restricted weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
Samtra was sentenced in December 2020 to four years behind bars for recklessly discharging a firearm in a 2019 road rage incident. He was also barred from owning weapons for 10 years.
