Police say a man who was taken to hospital with severe injuries suffered self-inflicted wounds and was not the victim of a random attack involving a weapon.
RCMP were sent to the area behind a business on Fischer Avenue in The Pas on Tuesday night and found the 56-year-old man. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.
The initial investigation determined the man was walking home when he was attacked by three male strangers, police said initially, asking anyone with video of the incident to contact them.
Later Wednesday, police said they had reviewed more video and that it showed the man was alone when he hurt himself.
