A man was arrested after drawing the attention of police by walking around in a ski mask on Portage Avenue on Tuesday.
Officers noticed the man near David Street in the Crestview area of the city at 8:50 a.m. They learned he was breaching several court orders, including one prohibiting him from entering the city, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Thursday.
While arresting him, officers allegedly found several items on the man with price tags attached from a box store on the 3600 block of Portage Avenue, which the man is prohibited from entering, the WPS said.
The store confirmed the items were stolen, the release said.
A 30-year-old man has been charged with theft under $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was detained in custody.
