Man killed by stolen rental van

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision involving a stolen moving van on Saturday.
Police were sent to the 300 block of Redwood Avenue at 7:10 a.m. and found an injured 49-year-old man. He was transported to hospital in stable condition and later died from his injuries, police said Tuesday afternoon.
A stolen rental moving van involved in the incident was found in a back lane at the location. Everyone inside fled before emergency crews arrived.
Police identified the victim as Kurt Fabian Paupanekis, 49.
