Man rushed to hospital after assault at Sutherland Avenue and Maple Street North

A man was transported to hospital in unstable condition after he was assaulted at the  corner of Sutherland Avenue and Maple Street North on Tuesday night.

Police were sent to the area at about 8:30 p.m. and found Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service members helping a man suffering from serious upper-body injuries. The 50-year-old man was later upgraded to stable.

An initial investigation determined a group of males were walking together when an argument started. Two suspects chased the victim, assaulting him multiple times before fleeing.
