A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after he was assaulted in the Mandalay West area Sunday night.
Winnipeg police were sent to the 100 block of Ritchie Avenue at about 8 p.m. and found the 29-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. Officers gave the victim emergency medical care before an ambulance arrived.
His condition was later upgraded to stable. Multiple suspects fled before officers arrived, the Winnipeg Police Service said.
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning. A WPS spokesperson said they couldn’t say whether the man was a victim of a random attack.
The WPS major crimes unit is asking anyone with information regarding the assault, including video, to contact investigators at 204-986-6219, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
