A 21-year-old man in The Pas was airlifted to Winnipeg early Saturday morning, after he spent multiple days suffering from an untreated gunshot wound.

Mounties learned of the injuries shortly before 2 a.m., when they received a report from paramedics that they were providing emergency care to a man with injuries consistent with having been shot, RCMP said in a news release Monday.

Police went to a home on Tremaudan Avenue and found the man with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital and later flown to Winnipeg, where he remains in stable but critical condition, the release said.

Investigators learned the victim had been shot a few says earlier.
