Daily allowances, or basic maintenance rates, paid to Manitoba foster parents are increasing by 10 per cent, ending a nearly 13-year freeze, the provincial government announced today.
Rates are increasing to between $24.32 and $34.72, depending on age and where the child lives, to help cover basic needs such as food and clothing.
The province said the increase will amount to about $3.6 million.
