Oakbank RCMP are investigating after a 53-year-old woman reported the power was deliberately disconnected at her Rural Municipality of Springfield home twice.
Police said the first incident happened on July 31 and the second on the afternoon of Oct. 8. The incidents led officers to identify a 54-year-old man as a suspect and to seize improperly stored guns from an area home. Police also found several of the suspect’s firearms were unaccounted for.
Officers arrested the man on Oct. 14, charging him with criminal harassment and unsafe storage of a firearm, then released him with conditions. The man was arrested again Wednesday after police obtained a search warrant for a home in the RM of Alexander, where officers seized more guns and ammunition.
The man was taken into custody on additional charges. In total, officers seized three restricted guns, 16 rifles and ammunition. Police are still investigating.
