Police arrested a man wanted on more than two dozen charges after stopping a BMW on Sunday night.
Officers stopped the 2011 vehicle on the 200 block of Austin Street North at 8:13 p.m.
The man lied about his name and gave officers a stolen driver’s licence, the Winnipeg Police Service said in a news release Tuesday. Officers learned he was wanted on three separate warrants for probation-order breaches, robbery and more than 23 fraud-related incidents.
Police found stolen cheques, stolen or forged bank cards, a credit card embossing machine and cash in the vehicle, the WPS said.
A 49-year-old man was charged with multiple new offences and detained in custody.
