Winnipeg police are on the lookout for a bag of medications stolen from an emergency scene Thursday night.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews were working on the 300 block of Stanley Street when a medical bag was taken.

The city warned the public in a Friday news release to stay away from the medicine, noting none of the drugs contain narcotics.

“Taking any amount of medication in the kit without medical supervision can be dangerous or fatal,” the City of Winnipeg said.

Most of the medications in the kit are administered intravenously and are packaged in vials. They should not be taken orally, the release said.

The incident was reported to the Winnipeg Police Service. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the bag or medicine can call the WPS at 204-986-6222.

The WFPS is conducting an investigation into the incident.
