Megadeth, Tegan and Sara announce Winnipeg concert dates

Two concerts headlined by Megadeth and Tegan and Sara are set for city stages in the spring and summer.

Megadeth, the heavy-metal stalwarts who are marking 40 years in the music business this year, will play the Canada Life Centre May 5.

Tegan and Sara, the Calgary indie-pop duo of twins Tegan and Sara Quin, take the stage at the Burton Cummings Theatre on July 31 and will commemorate 20 years since their first recordings.

Tickets for Megadeth’s concert go on sale March 9 at 10 a.m. at livenation.com and ticketmaster.ca, but there is a presale happening March 7 on megadeth.com. Prices weren’t announced.

Tegan and Sara tickets go on sale March 10 at 10 a.m., also at ticketmaster.ca, with prices starting at $31.
