Minor injury, illness clinic opens at Misericordia

The new minor injury and illness clinic at Misericordia Health Centre is now open.
The clinic is staffed by doctors, nurses and other health-care professionals to provide non-emergency care and treatment for minor health concerns, the province said previously. It will be equipped with diagnostic imaging and medical laboratory services.
The clinic will initially be open from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends, including statutory holidays. Those hours will be expanded in the future, a Monday news release said.
The province announced on July 4 that it would open such clinics within Misericordia’s former emergency department and at Grace Hospital. The former Progressive Conservative government shuttered the sites in 2017.
The province said in late November that Misericordia clinic would not open until 2025 and that focus would shift to the Grace clinic after that.
