NDPs choose Carla Compton as Tuxedo byelection candidate

The New Democrats have chosen Carla Compton to run for MLA in the Tuxedo riding’s byelection.

The seat left vacant by former premier Heather Stefanson will be filled by June 18, Premier Wab Kinew announced at a news conference Monday afternoon.

Tuxedo has been a Progressive Conservative stronghold since its inception in 1981.

Compton, a registered nurse, ran in the Tuxedo riding in the 2019 provincial election.

Election day is June 18. Advance voting will be between June 8 and June 15.
