Fire and paramedic crews will begin responding to emergencies out of a new station in Windsor Park on Wednesday night.
The station, at 1083 Autumnwood Dr., is the base for a fire engine and crew, a rescue unit and the hazardous materials response team, a paramedic crew and ambulance, and a fire investigator, the City of Winnipeg said in a news release.
The station was built on the same site as the old Windsor Park station and that of the former Windsor Park Library but has additional bay space to house more crews. The station at 864 Marion St. will be closed and its crews reassigned.
A commissioning ceremony and public open house is planned for later this spring.
