A new municipal RCMP detachment in Niverville opened to the public Monday.

Construction started in early 2023, and officers began moving into the building in early 2025. It is now open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

It is staffed by four officers and a public service employee.

The Niverville officers are under the umbrella of the St. Pierre-Jolys detachment. Each detachment will complement each other, but the Niverville members will primarily focus on that town, a Manitoba RCMP spokeswoman said Monday.

Mayor Myron Dyck said in a news release that the growing community is glad there is an increased police presence there.

“As the Town of Niverville continues to grow, we are thankful for the RCMP presence in our community,” he said.

“The opening of this new detachment is an exciting continuation of that presence and will provide peace of mind to residents that a detachment is now so close to home.”
