No one was injured after a fire broke out in a North End apartment building early Thursday morning.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said crews were called to a blaze in a three-storey apartment block in the 200 block of College Avenue just before 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 8:09 a.m. All occupants were able to safely self-evacuate, and no injuries were reported.

The WFPS says the building sustained smoke, fire and water damage. The cause is still under investigation.
