Notre Dame Avenue water main leak still being repaired: city

Contracting crews are still working on repairs of a damaged water line on Notre Dame Avenue near Langside Street that has closed two lanes since late Wednesday afternoon.

City spokeswoman Terryn Shiells said the water main leak was reported to officials just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A contractor was doing excavation work on a private property when they struck a private water line, Shiells said. The same contractor is now working on repairing the line, but Shiells said city officials don’t yet know when the work will be done.

The westbound curb and middle lanes of Notre Dame Avenue between Langside and Young streets remained closed as of mid-afternoon Thursday, said Shiells, who advised motorists to be aware of the closures and avoid the area if possible.
