One man arrested, another man wanted in fatal November shooting

Winnipeg homicide detectives have arrested one man accused in a fatal shooting in early November, but are still searching for another suspect in the slaying.

Lawrence Pruden, 27, was fatally shot near Portage Avenue and Parkview Street at about 1 a.m. on Nov. 5, shortly after leaving Classics Billiards Bar and Grill where he was out celebrating his birthday.

A 30-year-old man who was with him also suffered at least one gunshot wound but survived, the Winnipeg Police Service said previously.

Homicide detectives arrested Nathaniel Gatehouse-Gilchrist, 23, on Monday. He’s been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.

Investigators have identified Bryce William Walker, 21, as their second suspect. He’s about 5-5 in height and about 150 lbs.

He’s wanted on a warrant for second-degree murder and attempted murder. Police warn he may be armed and ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call detectives at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477.
