One person hurt in Sherbrook Street fire

One person was taken to hospital after fire broke out in a three-storey apartment building in the 400 block of Sherbrook Street around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters launched an offensive attack while paramedics assessed and took one patient, who was in unstable condition, to hospital. Everyone else in the building got out safely, the city said in a news release.

The blaze, which was limited to the suite where it had started, was under control within 20 minutes.

The cause is under investigation and no damage estimate was available.
