One person in unstable condition after North End blaze

One person was taken to hospital in unstable condition after a house fire in Winnipeg’s North End on Thursday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to reports of a fire at a single-storey home in the 1300 block of Magnus Avenue just after 4 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters entered the home and launched an interior attack, bringing the fire under control by 4:30 p.m.

Paramedics treated one individual at the scene before transporting them to hospital in unstable condition. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates were not immediately available.
