One taken to hospital after St. Vital house fire

Winnipeg firefighters responded late Sunday afternoon to a St. Vital house fire that may have been caused by the home’s electrical system.

The fire broke out in a home in the 300 block of Greenwood Avenue just before 6 p.m. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews fought the blaze and later declared the fire under control an hour later. Paramedics transported one person to hospital in stable condition.

“Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental and related to the home’s electrical system. No damage estimates are available,” the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service stated in a news release Monday.
