Pair of Manitoba skaters drafted on Saturday

Two more Manitobans heard their names called as the NHL draft continued Saturday.
Defenceman Brek Liske was selected in the second round, 53rd-overall, by the Philadelphia Flyers. The Beausejour product spent last season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League, with 24 points (7G, 17A) in 52 regular season games and 17 points (4G, 13A) in 18 playoff games.
Forward Zachary Lansard, the pride of Ste. Anne, was then picked in the third round, 68th-overall, by the Carolina Hurricanes. He plays for the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League and had 56 points (24G, 32A) in 68 regular season games and three points (3G, 0A) in five playoff games.
Defenceman Carson Carels was chosen sixth-overall by the Calgary Flames during Friday’s first round. The Cypress River native played for the Prince George Cougars of the WHL last season.
