The Manitoba Moose will be without the services of two top prospects of the Winnipeg Jets.

Defenceman Elias Salomonsson and forward Nikita Chibrikov have both suffered season-ending injuries, according to Moose coach Mark Morrison.

Chibrikov’s happened in the final game of the season for the Jets, while Salomonsson’s occurred this past Sunday in a playoff game for the Moose.

Salomonsson will require surgery for what is believed to be a shoulder ailment. The nature of Chibrikov’s injury wasn’t disclosed.

The Moose return to action this weekend as they start their next playoff series against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The best-of-five begins at Canada Life Centre with games on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, then shifts to Michigan for the duration.
