Progressive Conservative Leader Obby Khan congratulated NDP candidate Jennifer Flett on winning Tuesday’s byelection in The Pas–Kameesak and thanked PC candidate Edna Nabess and volunteers who worked on her campaign.

The unofficial results show Flett received 2,635 of 3,547 votes cast, while second-place Nabess received 616. Liberal Dan Quesnel received 165 votes and the Keystone Party’s Wally Daudrich received 105. Voter turnout was 36 per cent. Khan said in a news release that Nabess inspired people across the riding with her commitment to the community.

“Elections are about people, and our campaign was powered by people who believe northern Manitoba deserves every opportunity to succeed. Their hard work has laid the foundation for the future, and I know we will continue building on it together.”

A provincial election is due by Oct. 5, 2027.
