Pedestrian, 84, dies after Westwood collision

An 84-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a vehicle in Westwood on Wednesday.

Police were called about the collision in the area of Byrd Avenue and Westwood Drive at about 5:28 p.m. The man was transported to the hospital in unstable condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The 86-year-old man driving the vehicle remained at the scene. No charges have been laid.
