Pickering, Manness named to U18 national team

Blue-liner Avery Pickering of St. Adolphe and centre Sara Manness of La Salle have been named to Canada’s national under-18 women’s hockey team that will participate in the U18 Women’s World Hockey Championship in Zug, Switzerland, next month.

Pickering, 17, currently plays for Colgate University in the NCAA’s Eastern College Athletic Conference while 16-year-old Manness, recently named MVP of the national U18 championship, plays for the U22 Burlington Jr. Barracudas of the Ontario Women’s Hockey League.
