Police find ammunition stockpile in apartment suite

Winnipeg police have charged a 28-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man who allegedly had a stockpile of ammunition inside a West End apartment suite.

Officers seized about 500 rounds of ammunition and drug paraphernalia when they raided the apartment in the 500 block of Maryland Street in January, police said.

The raid was part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the Spence neighbourhood.

The suspects’ charges include possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. The man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order condition.
