Winnipeg police are investigating after a multi-use building located on the 400 block of Burrows Avenue caught fire around 6:10 a.m. Friday.

Police say they breached the building’s door and assisted a family of four, who were living in a basement suite, to evacuate.

The family, a store employee and officers were assessed and treated for smoke inhalation.
