A security guard was bear-sprayed outside city hall on Main Street on Monday afternoon.

Winnipeg police confirmed a victim in his 30s suffered from the effects of having been sprayed. The incident, which happened shortly before 3 p.m., is under investigation. No arrests have been made.

Swearing could be heard outside city hall at the time, and a security guard appeared to head inside quickly as a strong smell filled the air.

Police arrived shortly after.
