Police search for Portage tire slasher

RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect accused of slashing tires at a Portage la Prairie apartment complex.

Police received numerous reports on Oct. 8 from residents that the tires of their vehicles had been slashed overnight, an RCMP news release Wednesday stated.

Seven vehicles at the complex, located on the 700 block of Cedar Bay, were vandalized. Multiple vehicles had all four tires slashed.

Surveillance video obtained by police shows a man trying car handles and knocking on apartment doors just before 6 a.m.

He is seen walking around the lot to various vehicles and making motions towards the tires, police said.
