Police search for suspect after cab driver robbed, assaulted

Winnipeg police are searching for a suspect after a cab driver was allegedly robbed and assaulted early Thursday.
Police say the driver stopped the cab near the near the 400 block of Charles Street at the passenger’s request. Before exiting, the passenger produced a shotgun, demanded the driver’s property and told him to exit the vehicle.
The driver was then assaulted and robbed, a Saturday media release states.
Police are searching for a male suspect described as Caucasian or Indigenous, approximately 35 years old with a heavy build and possible facial hair on his chin. He was wearing a black jacket, black toque and had a shotgun.
