Call it an unhinged decision.

Police are investigating after the large white door to the Flin Flon Snow Lodge was stolen on the morning of Jan. 31.

A news release from RCMP noted the lodge — made of snow — held its grand opening the previous day, and at about 5 a.m., someone driving a red Ford Bronco removed the door from the entrance and fled the scene.

Based on an investigation and tips from the public, RCMP searched a residence on Inlet Arm Road in Schist Lake on Monday. Police located two doors, one of which was the door from the lodge. The property owner was not home at the time.

RCMP have issued a warrant for the arrest of Paul McIntyre, 62, who has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Anyone with information on McIntyre’s whereabouts is asked to contact Flin Flon RCMP at 204-687-1422 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

The case remains open.
