City police are asking the public for tips regarding a slaying that happened one year ago.

Treymaine Traverse, a 33-year-old member of O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation (South Indian Lake) who lived in Winnipeg, was found dead in a hotel suite on the 600 block of Main Street at about 10:45 a.m. on March 9, 2023.

The Winnipeg Police Service’s homicide unit is still investigating the slaying. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the killing, including people Traverse had contact with or his whereabouts before his death, to call them at 204-986-6508, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.

“No information is considered too small and may bring closure to Treymaine’s family,” the WPS said in a new release Friday.
