City police are warning the public about a recent increase in locker break-ins at fitness facilities.
There were nearly 20 such incidents across Winnipeg between April 28 and May 30, with multiple cases in the Amber Trails area, police said.
Items being stolen include wallets, keys, identification and cellphones. In one case, keys stolen from a locker were used to access a vehicle in the parking lot.
The Winnipeg Police Service reminded gym-goers to keep valuable items on their person or at home when possible, use high-quality locks and seek lockers with better visibility.
